Skin Care - Just Three Easy Steps

Youth is loved by the entire planet. At times though, we feel much younger inside than what our skin is showing to the world, thus denying our inner beauty and making us appear older than we actually feel. Never has it been so important to take the time to care for our skin, this is specially important as we age. With proper care, our skin will look better, feel softer and be overall healthier. With many treatments out there, we have to find the perfect treatment that will keep our skin looking great. There are a few things you can do that will get you started towards an anti-aging skin care that will provide results that will make your skin look good and feel good.

It isn’t easy, but try not to be tempted by the hundreds, even thousands, of products on the market. Many of these products make exciting claims, but most of them do not live up to those claims. While there are products out there with definite benefits for your skin, most important is to know how to treat your skin. From there you can develop a skin care treatment plan that incorporates only the products you need.

A basic skin care routine is the first thing you need. In the morning and evening you will need to cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser, followed by a toner rich in antioxidants and a moisturizer. You may also consider using an ex foliating scrub at night, but if you have sensitive skin ex foliate once every three or four days.

As you become older, more time is needed in order to care for your skin. First thing you can do is add an eye treatment, this should be applied every morning and compliment with a night cream at the end of the day. Both of these creams are special to the area around the eyes, this is the part where the skin loses collagen thus being the first are to show signs or wrinkling.

You should always wear a sunscreen with a SPF of at least 15. This is one of the most important skin care steps as the sun’s rays can not only cause unsightly wrinkles, prematurely aging your skin, but can cause skin caner which is one of the most common cancers affecting Americans.

Also harmful to your skin, and health, is cigarette smoke, even if it is just second-hand. If you smoke, seek aid to quit, and if you spend a lot of time around a smoker or in a smoke-filled location, try to find ways you can change that - not just for your skin, but for your health as well. Even if your skin looks great, lung cancer can strike and it your skin really won’t matter.

If you require more serious skin care, for acne or similar afflictions, see a dermatologist. They will help set up a treatment plan that best suits your need. Remember, even though you may not always want to go out of your way to take care of your skin, anti-aging skin care is best done preventively. So, by taking care of your skin today, you are ensuring that your skin will look and feel great tomorrow.
