What are the causes of teenage acne and how to get rid of acne that is linked to puberty?

Teenage acne is bad news - it is painful and the impact at the puberty stage of the person’s life can only be negative. The teenager often suffers emotionally, intellectually and socially.

The scars on the face that are for everyone to see do have an impact, but they are nothing when compared to the deep psychological impact they can have on the self esteem of the young person. The impact is often so deep that the person’s personality gets changed and it carries on even in the adult years, long after the blemishes are gone.

I know this because I have myself suffered from teenage acne for as many as 13 long years and it devastated me as it does to so many others. Most of my teen years were spent alone, in shame and in guilt. Teenage acne robbed me of my teenage years. So I took on the mission of beating this and after 7 years of rigorous research and experimentation on the subject, I have finally been able to win this battle. Today I do not have acne anymore and feel free to mix with people. My social life has improved tremendously and my skin has become in one word “great”.

And so I want others to feel the same like I am feeling at this time. For their convenience, I am revealing here what I found out about teenage acne, its causes, the cure that works the best and what parents should do when they have a kid who has teenage acne. Let the fight against teenage acne begin.

Learn about the symptoms and the theories of teenage acne

Blackheads, whiteheads, lesions that appear like boils, cysts and large pimples - teenage acne may appear in many types. And the severity of the outbreaks may also differ. In cases of a moderate outbreak, there are just a few growths on the back, chest or the face. However when the case is severe, then there are cysts that appear big and sore, and they come up all over the body. It looks bad.

And here’s an interesting observation! Did you know that it is the males who are affected by severe acne? And in males, the acne is mostly on the chest and the back?

But what causes teenage acne - well, there are many thoughts on this one. There are those who would say that the culprit is the hair follicles that get blocked. Then there are those who blame the genes. Another thought blames the body’s mechanism (the immunity) of fighting the acne bacteria. Some other popular causes include sudden increase in hormones or decrease in nutrients. Even the environmental lifestyle factors have been blamed for teenage acne.

So what is the real cause? I embarked to find out and friends, it took me 7 long years to do so. My research curve went through errors, trials and experiments and in the end I did learn the complete truth. And today I am convinced that I know it - because I have been able to permanently eradicate the acne.

So what really causes teenage acne?

The acne is not something that is temporary and so it is important to find out the causes. In truth, the real causes of teenage acne, no matter whether it is casual or severe, remain deep within the human body. To fight teenage acne, you will need to find an answer to these causes. Just treating the symptoms and neglecting the root causes never help - but this is the mistake many make. That is why OTC medications, antibiotics and other conventional drugs do not work. Though the symptoms go away, but the cause remains within the body and so the teenage acne returns.

When the body produces more hormones than it can deactivate and expel it can lead to an imbalance and this can lead to teenage acne. In some cases the body begins to make more oil and this prompts the acne too. The growths may also appear due to the buildup of toxins in the blood and lymph.

There is just one way you can treat teenage acne and this is by eradicating the causes that are making the lesions to appear.

Teenage acne - this is what the parents should know

The issue is quite serious because the emotion and the social life of the teenager is concerned here. Thus the parent of the person suffering from teenage acne need to be understanding and sensitive here.

Blame the teenager and you are sure to magnify the problem. And what for will you be blaming him or her? Instead of making him or her feel guilty, you should try to reach out and show empathy and patience. Help the teenager fight the teenage acne. Remember your own teenage life and how you yourself suffered?

Look and your son or daughter? Do you feel the pain in the eyes, the frustration the person is going through? Talk to the teenager and make him or her understand the problem and say that they are not to be blamed for it.

No one likes to suffer from teenage acne and so finding a cure is crucial because otherwise there can be a negative impact on the social and intellectual growth. Make them feel confident that you are always there to help them fight the condition and move on in life. Show them that you care by showing your own research on the subject.

Fight teenage acne successfully

No matter what anyone might tell you, the fact remains that there is just one way in which you can permanently get rid of teenage acne, and that is by fixing the internal issues. The acne that you see on the surface is just the symptom and trying to get rid of it would have no impact because the problem remains. Creams such as benzoyl peroxide, conventional drugs, antibiotics and steroids are quite useless and the bad news is they might actually make the situation worse. So concentrate on the internal causes instead.

And the holistic approach is the correct path in this as it goes deep down and treats the internal factors and also the external causes of teenage acne. This approach cures teenage acne and it also shows a healthier ways of living. And as a bonus, when you remove the internal factors, you also end up fighting hair loss and kidney problems - all ailments that are caused by hormonal imbalance. Do not lose your teenage years - fight teenage acne today holistically.
